Scheduled to face off for two more seasons, perennial basketball powers Kentucky and Gonzaga on Wednesday announced an agreement to end their series early.
In a joint statement, the schools said the decision was made “to allow each program freedom to re-evaluate future scheduling priorities, including conference obligations and nonconference opportunities.”
The Wildcats were to host the Bulldogs in the 2026-27 season, with Gonzaga scheduled to host Kentucky the following season.
Over the last four seasons, Gonzaga posted a 3-1 record in the series, including a 94-59 victory Dec. 5 in Nashville, Tenn.
