Alex Condon scored 24 points and Thomas Haugh added 20 as No. 12 Florida won its seventh consecutive game by defeating Ole Miss 94-75 on Saturday in Oxford, Miss.
Urban Klavzar scored 15 points, Xaivian Lee collected 11 points and 10 assists and Boogie Fland added 10 points as the Gators (21-6, 12-2 Southeastern Conference) won for the 12th time in 13 games. They ended a four-game losing streak against Ole Miss in Oxford.
It was Florida’s sixth double-digit margin of victory during its winning streak. The Gators shot 57.1% from the floor and had a 39-24 edge in rebounding.
Malik Dia scored 24 points, Ilias Kamardine added 14 and Patton Pinkins had 10 to lead the Rebels (11-16, 3-11), who lost their ninth consecutive game.
Dia scored on a putback and Kamardine followed with a jumper to start the second-half scoring and pull Ole Miss within 43-36. Haugh made a jumper for Florida’s first points of the half, starting a run that ended with Lee’s 3-pointer giving the Gators a 61-46 lead.
Dia scored five points to get Ole Miss within 12 points, but Florida scored the next nine points to open a 72-51 lead with less than nine minutes remaining. Kamardine’s jumper ended a nearly four-minute scoring drought for the Rebels, but they never threatened again.
Ole Miss led twice and the score was tied twice before Klavzar’s 3-pointer gave Florida the lead for good and started a 7-0 run that produced a 19-12 lead. Dia’s layup ended the run, but the Gators expanded the lead to 10 points on a jumper by Condon.
The Rebels got within eight points three times before Haugh made a 3-pointer and Fland added two free throws to give Florida a 33-20 lead. The Rebels responded with two free throws by Kamardine and a layup by AJ Storr, but Klavzar made a 3-pointer and Lee added a layup for a 38-24 lead.
The Gators led by 14 a second time before holding a 43-32 halftime lead.
